Webster Pavilion (Men)

Created over more than 20 years ago, the Webster Pavilion of the Old Brewery Mission is the largest resource for homeless menin Quebec that Webster Pavillion offers a hot meal, a shower, clothing if necessary anda safe place to sleep.

We welcome more than 300 people at the Webster Pavilion every night.  The average age of the men is 37 years.  These men come from varying language, ethnic and social groups with the majority having suffered major economic upheaval:

  • 80% have been abandoned by their families
  • 30% have mental health issues
  • 60% have drug related or other dependencies

More than 400 people have access to a nightly hot meal as well as to our clothing depot.  The men may visit the depot three times a week.  Most of the clothing available has been donated. A few statistics about the Webster Pavilion:

  • 200 beds for night time shelter
  • 111 places for permanent and transitional housing
  • Approximately 1,000 new clients each year
  • More than 205,000 meals served annually

Previously, housing was the only service available to the homeless.  Today, coming through our doors represents the first step towards leaving the ranks of the homeless.  Upon his arrival, each new client meets with a counselor to evaluate his needs.  Our team will work towards finding solutions to a myriad of issues the person may be facing including those that are health related.   The goal is to offer the support necessary for the person to regain control of his life and leave the ranks of the homeless. These programs are offered as part of our two steps Transition Services, L'Étape et L'Escale.
