BLANKFEST : 2nd Annual Event! Blankfest Québec held Friday, February 19th at Bar St-Laurent. The objective of the event is to collect blankets and items of clothing for the Old Brewery Mission, one of the most important shelters for men and women in Montréal. With the simple tag line : « Admission is a blanket », more than 640 blankets and warm clothes were collected representing a 30% increase over last year. A special Thank you to Jon Asher, the event organizer and to Kim Nguyen for her important collaboration.

HELPS HOMELESS IN MONTREAL GET WARM BLANKETS DONATED TO OLD BREWERY MISSION February 21st 2009, The 1st annual BlankFest Quebec will cover the city of Montreal with a blanket fundraiser on Saturday, February 21st at the city's landmark venue Bar St. Laurent 2, located at 5550 St. Laurent (corner St. Viateur).

Homelessness: Where have the pledged funds gone?
Montreal’s three largest men’s shelters are calling for funds to be provided in accordance with the Reference Framework on Homelessness. December 3, 2008.- The three Montreal men’s shelters are joining forces in calling on party leaders to make homelessness a significant priority, if they do not want to be responsible for further escalating the problem. In fact, the lack of appropriate funding by the provincial government – funding which has already been pledged to the shelters – is jeopardizing the shelters’ range of services.

MATTHEW PEARCE NAMED DIRECTOR GENERAL OF THE OLD BREWERY MISSION
March 5th 2008, Ronald Lawless, the president of the board of directors of the Old Brewery Mission, Quebec’s largest organization serving homeless men and women, announced today the appointment of Matthew Pearce to the position of Director General.
