The Pavillon Lise Watier is inaugurated in December 2010!

Thanks to the generosity of the Fondation Lise Watier, the Pavillon Lise Watier was inaugurated in December 2010. This pavilion of the Old Brewery Mission provides affordable and permanent housing for women.

At the Pavillon Lise Watier, the women live in an environment that promotes community experiences through enriching group activities. This, along with the psychosocial support of the counselling team enables tenants to work toward optimal stability and independence.

Old Brewery Mission Wins Award of Excellence

The Old Brewery Mission (OBM) was presented the Prix d’Excellence (Award of Excellence) for its work with vulnerable individuals and groups at the 2009-2010 gala event held by the Réseau de la santé et des services sociaux. Mr. Pearce, General Director of the OBM, accompanied by Ms. Lise Marion, Director of Transition Services, were in Quebec to receive the prize on behalf of all of their employees, volunteers and customers.

In the last year, OBM has had a success rate of 60% for the men and 80% for the women who have used their transition programs, and has helped 1,066 men and women to leave the streets and to live autonomously.

Golf Tournament

The 6th Annual Old Brewery Mission Golf Tournament held at Summerlea Golf and Country Club August 3rd, 2009 was a tremendous success.  Jim Ross and his committee once again organized a stellar tournament that provides much needed funds for the Mission.  The Old Brewery Mission is profoundly grateful to Graham Wells and the Ken Reed family for their generous support.  The Tenaquip Foundation’s very special donation to the tournament not only made it a great success but demonstrated how caring Ken Reed was about the homeless population of Montreal. We were extremely pleased to dedicate the tournament in his honour.
