Step 2 – L’Escale

Old Brewery Mission MontrealThe Old Brewery Mission’s L’Escale Program is the logical next step from L’Étape allowing both men and women approximately three months to continue their transition towards a more stable life.

Program participants pay a modest rent for a bed in a dormitory; a semi-private or private room, all meals, clothing and individual counseling services aimed at reintegrating them into society.

Testimonial
Patrick became homeless after separating from his wife and suffering
an injury at work; these events led to an addiction to prescription
pain medication. He found himself living on the street
and heard about the Webster pavilion from another homeless man
he knew. With the help of l’Éscale’s counsellors, he has gone
through substance abuse treatment and is on his way to re-entering
the work force.

Patrick now wants to have his own apartment and
dreams of helping others who find themselves in his situation: “I
would like to volunteer either at the Old Brewery Mission or at a
similar organization to help others in the way that I was helped by
people here.”
